The Gambia-Swansea Vision 2020 Link would like to thank everyone who attended the first “Glittering and Glamorous EyeBall” which was held on Saturday 25th April at The Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea.
The event was a huge success and £2515.30 was raised for the charity. We aim to use this money to purchase essential equipment for The Sheikh Zayed Regional Eye Care Centre such as tonometers. This piece of equipment is vital in monitoring glaucoma.

Charity Quiz Night
February 9th, 2009 by Suzanne Martin · 1 Comment · News
The first charity quiz night of the link was held on Saturday 7th February. The event was held at The Vivian Hall, Blackpill, Swansea and was a great success. Andrew Martin was the highly entertaining quiz master who presented seven rounds of often impossible questions ranging from sport and music to the more amusing “ladies round” which appealed more to the female contestants.
Half way through the evening was a welcome food break where the contestants dined on a beautifully presented ploughmans supper consisting of a variety of bread, cheese and pate. This was accompanied by drinks from the licenced bar.
The evening concluded with a raffle of fabulous prizes including a voucher to the popular Welcome to Town restaurant and a cut and blow dry at the newly opened b.ten hairdressers.
The eventual winners of the quiz whose team was strangely entitled “Sunderland 2, Stoke City 0” beat the team in second place by only half a point and were presented with a tasteful food hamper.
It is anticipated that the quiz night will be an annual event so look out for details next February as tickets will be in great demand!
